World without Wars and Violence
Rafael de la Rubia is the founder of World without Wars and Violence, an organisation which was inspired by the Humanist Movement in 1996. After attending meetings all around the world and hosting dozens of forums on the subject of education in his native Spain, in 2007, Rafa started to promote the idea for a World March for Peace and Nonviolence. The march, which he coordinated, set off on the 2nd of October 2009 and finished on the 2nd of January 2010, travelling through over 100 countries in the process. At the time of writing, the 2nd World March is scheduled to start on the 2nd of October, 2019 and finish on the 8th of March, 2020. The first demand of this new edition is for the ratification of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in all countries that are yet to do so and thus ensure it’s entry into force.
